In accordance with the Mission of Bank Sumsel Babel, which is to help develop regional potential and increase regional economic growth as well as following up Bank Sumsel Babel's commitment to the Sumsel Mandiri Food Movement, whose program was launched on December 2, 2021 in Lahat Regency, Bank Sumsel Babel has gradually realized its participation assistance from the Food Self-Sufficient South Sumatra Movement to several villages/sub-districts in South Sumatra, including: Lahat Regency, PALI Regency, OKU Regency, OKU Timur Regency, Banyuasin Regency, Muara Enim Regency, Ogan Ilir Regency, Palembang City. The assistance provided was in the form of vegetable and fruit plant seeds, fish seeds and feed as well as ponds, poultry seeds and cages.
Bank Sumsel Babel's participation in the Sumsel Mandiri Food Movement is a form of company support for Government Programs as well as a form of corporate social responsibility and concern for underprivileged communities with the aim of reducing food insecurity in villages and/or sub-districts located in the company's operational area.
The Sumsel Mandiri Food Movement is a change in mindset from "buyers" to "producers" and is encouraged to become sellers through activities carried out by all households by cultivating their yards as a source of food in a sustainable manner to increase availability, affordability and utilization, as well as increase income. .
In addition, in order to also support food security and empower MSME partners, Bank Sumsel Babel helps Jamu Bintara Village 16, Kuto Batu Palembang Village, which is a village under Bank Sumsel Babel, in the form of plant seeds for raw materials for making herbal medicine, such as white ginger, galangal , turmeric, curcuma, bitter, and others, as well as catfish seeds, barrels, and pellets.
