Bank Sumsel Babel renovates uninhabitable homes for residents in South Bangka.

Bank Sumsel Babel Toboali Branch has provided CSR assistance in the form of a home renovation for Bambang and Karmila, residents of Gadung Village, Toboali District, South Bangka Regency. The handing over of the assistance took place on Friday (November 29). The event was attended by the Head of Bank Sumsel Babel Toboali Branch, Edward Octavidy, the Head of the South Bangka Housing and Settlement Agency, Basu Priatna, the Toboali district head, the Gadung village head, neighborhood heads, and local RT leaders. Basu Priatna expressed deep gratitude to Bank Sumsel Babel for their concern towards the needy residents. He also hoped that the house could be enjoyed and well-maintained by Bambang, Karmila, and their family.

Bambang echoed similar sentiments, expressing heartfelt thanks to Bank Sumsel Babel Toboali Branch for building their house, making it better and more suitable for his family. Throughout 2024, Bank Sumsel Babel Toboali Branch has provided various CSR assistance to the South Bangka community. Following the tornado disaster in the Greater Island District, they donated 90 sheets of asbestos through the district head on January 25, 2024. Similarly, for the victims affected by the tornado in Nyelanding Village, they provided 68 sheets of asbestos through the South Bangka Department of Social Affairs, Empowerment of Women, and Child Protection on May 13, 2024.

In addition to disaster relief, Bank Sumsel Babel Toboali Branch also distributed CSR assistance in the form of staple food and supplementary food packages to prevent stunting, totaling 50 packages, through the Department of Social Affairs, Empowerment of Women, and Child Protection on June 12, 2024. During the celebration of Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijri, the Toboali Branch provided CSR assistance in the form of one sacrificial cow to the South Bangka Regional Government, which was distributed to eligible community members through the South Bangka Environmental Agency.

Furthermore, Bank Sumsel Babel Toboali Branch provided additional food aid to 80 families at risk of stunting for six consecutive months in collaboration with the South Bangka Health Office, Population Control, and Family Planning Agency. They also supplied 33 assistive devices to the elderly and persons with disabilities, coordinated by the Department of Social Affairs, Empowerment of Women, and Child Protection of South Bangka.

Edward Octavidy stated that the provision of this CSR assistance is a manifestation of Bank Sumsel Babel Toboali Branch's commitment to the community in South Bangka Regency and supports the local government's programs aimed at reducing stunting rates. "We hope this CSR assistance is beneficial and can alleviate the burdens faced by those in need," said Edward.
