Prabumulih. A happy smile lit up the face of Suryati, a resident of Jalan Kambang Iwak, Tanjung Raman Village, South Prabumulih District. Her home is now fit for habitation, thanks to assistance provided through a home renovation program funded by the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Bank Sumsel Babel (BSB), Prabumulih Branch. The symbolic handover of the house keys was conducted by the Mayor of Prabumulih, H. Arlan, accompanied by the Head of the BSB Prabumulih Branch, Bayu Yudha Perwira, on Wednesday (November 4, 2025). In his remarks, Mayor H. Arlan expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all parties who contributed to the realization of this social program. "On behalf of the Prabumulih City Government, I would like to thank everyone who helped make this program a reality. This renovated home can serve as a new source of hope for its recipient," said Arlan.

According to the Mayor, this home renovation program stands as clear evidence of the synergy between the Prabumulih City Government and the private sector—in this case, Bank Sumsel Babel—aimed at improving public welfare. "This is an excellent form of cooperation between the government and BSB Prabumulih. We intend to continue strengthening such collaborations so that the benefits can be felt directly by the community," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Head of the BSB Prabumulih Branch, Bayu Yudha Perwira, explained that the handover of these house keys is part of the implementation of BSB’s 2025 CSR funds. In addition to home renovations at three locations—including Suryati’s residence—the bank has also distributed various forms of social assistance, such as: infrastructure and equipment for corn cultivation; 455 packages of basic necessities for sanitation workers from the Department of Housing and Settlement Areas (Disperkim) and the Environmental Agency (DLH); and 25 display stalls for micro-enterprises, which will be distributed in coordination with the Department of Cooperatives and MSMEs. Bayu added that this year, the Prabumulih branch of BSB (Bank Sumsel Babel) plans to build another house through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, in coordination with the city’s Social Affairs Agency and the Housing and Settlement Agency. "We ask for your prayers and support; we will continue to contribute through our CSR program so that more people can be helped," he said. Suryati, one of the beneficiaries, could not hide her deep emotion. "Alhamdulillah, I am so grateful. Thank you to the city government and Bank Sumsel Babel for the assistance. Our home is now decent and comfortable to live in," she expressed with heartfelt appreciation. It is hoped that the BSB Prabumulih CSR program will continue and reach even more people in need, thereby creating a positive impact on improving the well-being of residents in the "City of Pineapples."
