The South Sumatra Provincial Government and Bank Sumsel Babel Distribute Rice to Online Drivers

Palembang, September 1, 2025 – Bank Sumsel Babel collaborated with the South Sumatra Provincial Government to distribute rice to the South Sumatra Online Drivers Association. This program demonstrates its commitment to online motorcycle taxi drivers, who play a significant role in supporting people's daily mobility.
The event, held in Palembang, was also attended by the Regional Secretary of South Sumatra Province, *Drs. H. Edward Chandra, M.H.*, and representing the Board of Directors of Bank Sumsel Babel was *Head of the Corporate Secretary Division, Mr. Teddy Kurniawan.*
On this occasion, online drivers from various platforms received rice assistance as a demonstration of the regional government's and Bank Sumsel Babel's commitment to the welfare of workers in the online transportation sector.
"This collaboration is part of Bank Sumsel Babel's commitment to being present in the community, not only through financial services but also through social care programs. Online drivers are important partners helping drive the regional economy, so they deserve support," said Teddy Kurniawan, Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of Bank Sumsel Babel.
He added that synergy with local governments will continue to be strengthened through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, focusing on community economic empowerment, education, health, and social welfare.
The rice distribution program received a warm welcome from the online drivers in attendance. They expressed their gratitude for the government's support and for Bank Sumsel Babel's tangible presence in helping alleviate their daily needs.
